St. B's Black Fly 5K
The St. B's Black Fly 5K is a community event held at the Dewey Mountain Recreation Center in Saranac Lake. Participants navigate scenic trails and mountain air in an event that permits running, walking, rolling, and strolling. The proceeds from the race benefit St. Bernard's School to support affordable education.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 5 km
- 1 km
The 5 km course is open to both adults and students. The 1 km option is a new addition specifically for students and consists of a single loop on the trails at Dewey Mountain. The event structure separates participants by pace, with competitive runners starting the race followed by those participating at a more relaxed speed.
Participants receive a custom-designed t-shirt while supplies last. After completing the course, attendees gather at the Lodge for post-race festivities, including food and drinks. Prizes are awarded to participants based on their age category. Registration includes a discounted family rate for groups of four or more people.
