SSR Spring Series 5K
The SSR Spring Series 5K is an athletic event organized by the Socorro Striders and Riders. This race serves as the third installment of the Spring Series and takes place in Socorro, New Mexico. The event is held at the City of Socorro Rodeo Grounds Cross Country Course.
Participants can choose between two participation formats:
- 5 km walk/run on-site
- 5 km virtual race
The in-person event follows a cross-country route located at the sports complex. During this specific edition, which is designated as the annual Easter egg run, participants may find treats located along the course. The primary focus of the series is the promotion of physical health and general activity through walking and running.
For those selecting the virtual option, the distance may be completed on any course of the participant's choosing. This allows for completion at a time that is convenient for the individual. Results for the virtual race are self-recorded and submitted via email. Registration for the event is open to the public for a fee of five dollars per person.
