About the race
The Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence Christmas Dash is a seasonal, family-oriented running event held in South Hagley Park, Christchurch. The event offers two race options and uses a looped park course with both registration and the finish at the picnic area on Deans Ave, opposite Freyberg Ave.
The courses:
- 10 km : three laps in South Hagley Park, start line located about 400 m from the registration area.
- Kids 3.2 km : one lap in South Hagley Park, children start and finish at the registration area.
Facilities and services include one aid station supplying water and Pure electrolyte drink, public toilets near the rugby fields and across the road in North Hagley Park, race number collection at registration, and results and race photos published online after the event. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each event. A complimentary post-race breakfast is provided for participants; supporters may purchase breakfast.
Entry options list standard, youth/concession, and on-the-day cash entries with an additional late fee. Online entries close at midnight the Friday before the race. Parents or caregivers may accompany children in the 3.2 km race at no extra charge. The park remains open to the public during the event.
