Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence Christmas Dash - Christchurch
This seasonal, family-friendly running event takes place on 29 November in South Hagley Park, Christchurch. Registration and the finish area are at the picnic area on Deans Ave opposite Freyberg Ave. The park will remain open to the public during the event.
Course and facilities:
- 10 km : three laps in South Hagley Park; start line located near the corner of Deans and Riccarton Ave, approximately 400 m from the registration and finish area.
- Kids 3.2 km : one lap; children start and finish at the registration area.
There is one aid station providing water and a Pure electrolyte drink. Public toilets closest to the registration area are south by the rugby fields; toilets nearest the 10 km start are across the road in North Hagley Park.
Event options and participation:
- 10 km for ages 14 and over
- Kids 3.2 km for ages under 14 Parents or caregivers may accompany children in the 3.2 km race at no extra charge.
Entry fees include standard and concession rates; an additional on-the-day cash fee applies. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each event. Results and race photos are published during the week after the event. A post-race breakfast is provided for participants; supporters may purchase breakfast for $10.
