Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence Christmas Dash - 10 km & Kids 3.2 km
The event is a seasonal, family oriented run held in South Hagley Park, Christchurch. Races take place from a registration and finish area at the picnic area on Deans Ave opposite Freyberg Ave. The 10 km course consists of three laps inside South Hagley Park. The kids event covers one lap, listed as 3.2 km.
The 10 km start is located near the corner of Deans and Riccarton Ave, approximately 400 m from the registration and finish area. The park remains open to the public during the event. There will be one aid station offering water and Pure electrolyte drink. Public toilets near the registration area are located south by the rugby fields, and toilets near the 10 km start are across the road in North Hagley Park.
Event entries and fees are published for each race. Standard entry fees are listed for both events; youth and concession discounts apply for the 10 km. On the day entries are accepted for an additional cash fee. Parents or caregivers may accompany children in the 3.2 km race at no extra charge.
Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each event. Results and race photos are uploaded to the event website during the week after the race. A complimentary post race breakfast is provided for participants while supporters may purchase breakfast for a fee.
