About the race
The OxRun and OxDash are run-only events held as part of the OxMan festival in rural North Canterbury. The runs use the same course as the event’s multisport races and take place on quiet, country roads.
Distances offered:
- 21 km (OxRun) : three laps of the main lap
- 7 km (OxDash) : one lap of the main lap
The course starts on South Eyre Road just past the bike exit and initially runs down South Eyre Road. Runners turn left at the first shingle road, then left into Harewood Road, then left into the shingle road to the finish line. The main lap includes a right onto Poyntzs Road and a right onto Worlingham Road to a turn point, with a return along Poyntzs Road and Harewood Road back to the turn point or the finish line.
The run-only events start at the same time as the Mini OxMan and follow the same run course as the other OxMan events. Course notes advise runners not to follow Mini OxMan or OxMan Multisport athletes who will be turning right about 500 m down Harewood Road as they head to their bikes. The event accepts teams and individuals and offers separate run-only entry options within the wider OxMan festival. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
