Sri Chinmoy Races Summer Series - Bristol
The Sri Chinmoy Races Summer Series takes place on weekday evenings in Eastville Park, Bristol. The series runs from early May through July and utilizes the Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile. The course consists of an accurately measured, undulating 1-mile pavement loop around the perimeter of the park, featuring significant tree shade.
The series includes several different distances and formats:
- 1 mile junior races
- 2 miles open races
- 3 x 1 mile relay
The 2-mile races comprise the main series, while the 3 x 1 mile relay is held as a separate event within the schedule. The relay is open to teams of three runners, with specific prize categories for families, veterans, and mixed teams. Participants in the relay race receive an ice cream upon completion.
The event is held under UKA Rules. While online registration is available for individual races or the entire series, participants may also register on the day of the event for an additional fee. Facilities at the venue include a bag storage area and bike racks located near the registration point. The park also provides electric vehicle charging stations in the car park near the start and finish line. To support environmental sustainability, runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable water cups and retain their race numbers for the duration of the series.
