The Drop - Bath
The Drop is a stripped-back navigation challenge based at The Huntsman in Bath. Participants are taken to an undisclosed drop location and must find their own way back to the event centre on foot without maps, GPS, compasses, route markers, or outside assistance.

At registration participants hand over electronic devices, watches, and navigational aids. Each person receives a race number and a sealed emergency bag that must be carried for the duration; breaking the seal results in disqualification. The 6 mile option is reserved for non-locals to reduce local route advantage. Entries may be checked for local knowledge and moved to the longer options if necessary.
Deployment uses a blindfolded bus transfer to the drop location. When blindfolds are removed the clock starts and each participant makes their own route decisions. All movement must be on foot; use of transport or shortcuts is prohibited. Devices may only record activity if sealed inside the emergency bag.
An optional live GPS tracking system is available separately. Trackers are accurate within about five metres but can be affected by tall buildings or signal black spots; trackers must be returned or a replacement fee will apply.
