The Drop - Bath (5 July 2026)
The event is a navigational running challenge held on 5 July 2026 at The Huntsman, Bath, 1 Terrace Walk, North Parade, Bath, Somerset, BA1 1LJ. Entrants choose either a 10-mile or 15-mile distance and may enter solo or as part of a team. Entrants must be aged 18 or over on the event date. Entry prices shown are £47 for the 10-mile option and £53 for the 15-mile option.
Format, rules and safety
At registration participants hand over electronic devices and receive a race number and an emergency bag. Participants are transported to an undisclosed drop-off location and must find their own way back to the event centre. Distances are measured as the crow flies, so actual ground distance may be longer.
Organisers prohibit unauthorised navigation aids. Rules include sealing any recording device in the emergency bag, using only maps provided by organisers (if any), and completing the route on foot. Breaking the emergency bag seal leads to disqualification.
Live GPS tracking is offered as an optional, paid feature for safety and sharing. Trackers should be placed where they have a clear view of the sky; accuracy may be within 5 metres but can be affected by buildings or signal black spots. All trackers must be returned after the event or a replacement fee of £175 applies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
