Sri Chinmoy Princes Park Winter Running Festival
The event is held at Lawn 3, Princes Park on Royal Parade in Carlton, Melbourne. Multiple race distances are offered on a flat, tree-lined 5 km circuit that lies within Princes and Royal Park. The circuit has been measured by an AA certified course measurer and features kilometre markers and drink stations every 2.5 km stocked with water and electrolyte.
Chip timing is used with live online results and net time (mat time) is used to calculate placings. Race numbers are collected on race morning at the venue. First aid services are provided by St Johns Ambulance and toilets are available at the start and finish area. Carparking is available along Royal Parade and in nearby side streets.
The lap structure is as follows: the marathon adds a 2.2 km half-lap at the start then completes eight full laps; the half marathon adds a 1.1 km start section then completes four full laps. Other distances complete full laps as listed.
Age-group awards are presented across categories from U15 through 80 plus. Minimum age requirements apply to each distance and are based on Athletics Australia recommendations. Optional early starts are available for the marathon and the 30 km race; early starters must register in advance and follow the organiser’s instructions.
