Sri Chinmoy Princes Park Winter Running Festival
The event is staged from Lawn 3 in Princes Park, adjacent to Royal Parade in Melbourne, and uses a flat, tree-lined 5 km circuit within Princes and Royal Park. The course has been measured by an AA certified measurer and is traffic free, with distance markers every kilometre and drink stations every 2.5 km supplying water and electrolyte.
A 2.2 km half-lap circuit is added at the start of the marathon to make the full 42.2 km; the marathon then completes eight full laps. The half marathon includes a 1.1 km add-on at the start and then four full laps. Other distances complete full 5 km laps as follows:
- Marathon - 42.2 km, 8 laps plus a 2.2 km half-lap at the start
- 30 km - 6 laps of the 5 km circuit
- Half Marathon - 21.1 km, 4 laps plus a 1.1 km add-on at the start
- 10 km - 2 laps of the 5 km circuit
- 5 km - 1 lap of the 5 km circuit
Chip timing is provided with net times used for placings. Race numbers are collected on race morning at the venue. Cash and credit cards are not accepted for on-the-day entries. First aid services and toilets are available at the start and finish area. Age-group medals are presented for male and female finishers across categories from U15 through 80+ years. A pancake breakfast is served after the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
