Course, rules and logistics
The course is a scenic loop on the pedestrian lane of the main Park Drive, traveled counterclockwise through forest and meadow with some hills. The route passes Lincoln Road Lawns, Battle Pass, Nellie’s Lawn, Long Meadow, Lookout Hill, Prospect Park Lake, and finishes at Harry’s Wall. The 5K is just short of one loop; the 7-Mile is two loops with a short out-and-back on the second loop along Center Drive.
Age and time rules: the 5K is open to ages 13 and up, the 7-Mile to ages 15 and up. Time limits are 1 hour for the 5K and 1 hour 45 minutes for the 7-Mile. Awards are given to men and women in multiple age categories, and custom medals are provided to all finishers. Registration fees vary by date. The event may be converted to a virtual race if organizers cannot hold it in person; registered participants would receive race giveaways and medals by mail after completing the virtual event.
