Sri Chinmoy 5K & 7 Mile in Prospect Park
The Sri Chinmoy 5K and 7 Mile race takes place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on March 14, 2027. The event is organized by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in cooperation with the Prospect Park Alliance and NYC Parks Department.
The course is a scenic, USATF certified loop that runs counterclockwise on the pedestrian lane of the main Park Drive, passing forest and meadow areas and landmarks such as Lincoln Rd. Lawns, Battle Pass, Nellie’s Lawn, Long Meadow, Lookout Hill, and Prospect Park Lake. The 5K covers just under one loop; the 7 Mile consists of two full loops, with the second loop including a short out-and-back on Center Drive. Certification numbers are provided for both distances.

Giveaways and services listed for participants include a vacuum insulated sports bottle, custom finisher medals, free finisher photos, bag check, and aid stations approximately every mile. Race shirts are offered in unisex sizes; packet shipping to US addresses is available for an additional fee with an option to have bib and giveaway sent before the race. There is no race-day registration and entries are non-transferable. Awards are given in men’s and women’s age categories and all finishers receive medals.
