Squirrelly Tail Twail Wun is a 1/2 Marathon held at Gifford Pinchot State Park in Lewisberry, PA, with venue operations based at Conewago Race Day Use (40.072617, -76.887453). The course follows trails around Gifford Pinchot Lake and is described as semi-flat with short runnable climbs.
Running surfaces vary across the route. Surfaces include black top, dirt with leaves, exposed tree roots, dirt with rocks, loose stones, horse trails and sections that may be muddy if not frozen. Trails may also have snow or ice cover depending on February weather. Conditions can change with the weather and affect footing.
Race logistics include bib pickup at Sunny Side Pavilion from 8:00am to 9:45am on race day. There is one aid station at about 6.6 miles offering water, Gatorade, peanut butter and jelly, chips and similar items. A cutoff time at that aid station is 2 hours 15 minutes. The finish area closes at five hours and staff will wait for the last runner to cross the finish line.
