Event details

The Squirrel Hill Loopy Loppet is a cross-country ski race held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Minocqua Winter Park. Skiers may choose skate or classic technique and may complete one loop (6 km) or two loops (12 km). The event includes the following race options:

6 km skate
6 km classic
12 km skate
12 km classic

Trails used include Base Loop, Tornado Alley, Survivor, and Nose Dive Alley. Costumes are encouraged for all racers. A special team rate of $15 per racer is offered for organized elementary through high school teams.

Additional information

Awards are given to the top three overall finishers and the top three in each age group. All registrants receive a complimentary post-race meal and drink; beer and non-alcoholic beverages are available. The event is followed by the Beat The Bunny 2k youth ski race, an untimed one-lap race of Base Loop for children age 12 and under.
