Event overview
The Minocqua "No Frills" Marathon takes place in Minocqua, Wisconsin on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The event program includes a full marathon, a half marathon, a 5K and marathon relay options for 2-member teams or 3 to 5 member teams. The marathon course is certified (WI22019DM).

Course and logistics
The marathon and half marathon are run on the Bearskin Trail as an out-and-back course, starting in downtown Minocqua and finishing on the trestle in Minocqua. Registration and packet pickup are conducted in person at the American Legion, 121 W Front St, Minocqua, WI. An early start and a super early start are available by special arrangement; early starters are not eligible for overall first, second, and third place awards. Runners using pre-dawn sections of the trail are advised to bring a headlamp.
Volunteer positions include staffing water stations; supplies such as tables, chairs, water, and sports drink are delivered to stations in advance and volunteers are asked to arrive before their assigned shift. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
