Event overview

Squirrel Challenge is a Big Bear Events six-hour trail event at Daventry Country Park, NN11 2JB, on 4 February 2026. Entrants must be at least 16 years old on the event date. The organiser operates tiered entry fees; one published example is £37 before 04/01/2026 and £42 after that date. Unaffiliated entrants pay an additional £2. The event has a stated partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and optional donations can be made during entry.

Course and format

The event uses a 3.3-mile off-road loop. Runners, walkers or ruckers may complete as many laps as they wish within the six-hour time limit. A marathon distance requires eight laps and a half marathon requires four laps. The majority of the route is on relatively new crushed stone - around 80% of the course - and will use park pathways. The final route may be adjusted when new sections of the country park open.

Practical information
