Spurs Austin International Half course and key details
The Spurs Austin International Half is a point to point half marathon in Austin, Texas held on January 17, 2027. The route covers 13.1 miles and features a significant net downhill, designed to yield faster race times than a flat course. The event was formerly known as the 3M Half Marathon.
The course begins with a gentle descent from Stonelake Boulevard and moves through north Austin. Midrace sections include downhill stretches along Shoal Creek and a designated Energy Zone before mile 7. The final miles pass through the University of Texas campus and continue on a steady decline to the finish at 14th and San Jacinto near the Texas State Capitol. The relay exchange is located just past mile 6.
Aid stations provide water and lemon-lime electrolyte at every stop. An Energy Zone at mile 7 supplies GO GEL products in Apple Cinnamon and Mixed Berry (caffeinated) flavors. Each aid station includes restrooms and on-course medical support from Ascension Seton personnel offering basic first aid; additional restrooms are available near miles 1 and 3. The organizers provide a course map, elevation profile, and GPX file for navigation.
The course is open for four hours, which corresponds to an 18 minute per mile pace. Participants who cannot maintain this pace will be directed to the sidewalk and the finish line will not remain open beyond the course closure time.
