Springfield Striders Hobble 2026
The event takes place on 08 Nov 2026 and is described as the longest established trail race in Essex. The course changes each year and the event holds TRA permit 8761.
Distances offered:
- 16 miles approx trail race on paths, tracks and country lanes
- 6 miles approx trail race on paths, tracks and country lanes
The race is self navigation using a written route description issued on the day; there are no course markings, marshals or GPX. It is not a mass start and participants will be timed out and back in at the finish. Entrants must be over 18 for the long route and over 16 for the short route.
Race headquarters are at the Horse & Groom pub in Galleywood Common, Chelmsford, CM2 8PL. Toilet facilities are available. Results will be posted on springfieldstriders.org.uk and essextrailevents.com.
Entry fees are listed as £9 affiliated and £11 unaffiliated plus a 50p booking fee; the entry includes a £4 voucher to spend at the pub on the day. Entries may be made for others but full participant details and confirmation of terms must be provided before the closing date. There are no refunds except if the race is cancelled.
