The Springbank Road Races
The Springbank Road Races have a long history in London, Ontario, spanning many years. They are part of the SoleScience London Race Series. The event offers several race distances: a half marathon, a 5 km run and walk, a 2.1 km run, and a Kiddy Trot of approximately 250 meters for children.
The Course
The races are held primarily in Springbank Park, a recognized running location. The course follows the paved pathway system along the Thames River. The half marathon features a small loop of the park followed by an out-and-back loop on the path system. The 5 km is an out-and-back loop within the park. The 2.1 km run follows the final 2.1 km of the half marathon course. Both the 5 km and half marathon courses are officially measured and certified.
Registration and Practical Information
Registration is available online or in-person at SoleScience. Tiered entry fees apply up to race day. The first registrants receive an event shirt. All half marathon finishers receive a finisher's medal. Awards are given for open, masters, and age group categories.
Light refreshments are provided post-race, and washrooms are available on site. The host charity for the event is Operation Walk Canada, which provides hip and knee replacement surgeries in developing countries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
