Springbank Road Races : London
Springbank Road Races take place in Springbank Park at Flint Cottage off Commissioners Road on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The event has a 59-year history and has used several distance formats over time; the current program features a half marathon and a 5K. The course follows the paved pathway system along the Thames River.
Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon: small park loop then out-and-back on the Thames River pathway
- 5K Run & Walk: out-and-back loop of Springbank Park
- 2.1K Run: final 2.1 km of the half course, starting near the 19k marker
- Kiddy Trot: about 250 metres, for children up to age 12; parents may run alongside
Courses are measured and certified (5k: ON-2008-044-BDC; half: ON-2022-054-BDC). All half marathon finishers receive a finishers medal. Cash prizes are posted for Open and Masters top placements in the half marathon; merchandise awards apply to age groups and shorter events. Unclaimed awards can be picked up at SoleScience until October 27.
Facilities include washrooms in the park; there are no showers. Light refreshments are provided after the races. The event supports the charity Operation Walk Canada, which provides hip and knee replacement missions in developing countries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
