Springbank Road Races
The event takes place in Springbank Park in London ON and follows the paved pathway system along the Thames River. Multiple race options serve different ages and distances.
- Half Marathon
- 5K run and walk
- 2.1K run following the final 2.1 km of the half
- Kiddy Trot about 250 meters
The half marathon combines a small park loop with an out and back section on the Thames River path. The 5K is an out and back within Springbank Park. Courses are measured and certified: half marathon code ON-2022-054-BDC and 5K code ON-2008-044-BDC.
The event supports the host charity Operation Walk Canada. Operation Walk Canada provides hip and knee replacement surgery in developing countries; since 2006 it has completed 27 missions and helped more than 1200 people. All half marathon finishers receive a finisher medal. Cash prizes and category awards are listed for the half marathon and age group merchandise awards are provided for other distances.
In-person registration and family registrations with a discount are available at SoleScience, 627 Maitland St, London ON; the family discount applies in person only. Results are published online immediately after the race. Facilities include park washrooms but no showers, and light refreshments are provided after the event.
