Event overview
The Spring Third Winchester Battlefield race takes place on April 25 at Third Winchester Battlefield, 251 First Woods Dr, Winchester, VA. The event offers three distance options and includes a virtual race option. Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. Live results are posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. The event supports Team Virginia, an organ transplant awareness group.
Distances and course
- 5k - one loop on a mostly light gravel dirt trail.
- 10k - two loops on the same trail.
- Half - three loops with an out-and-back detour each lap.
The course is a trail route on mostly light gravel and dirt. Course maps and elevation information are provided for each distance.
Support, logistics, and awards
Water stations: the half marathon has 11 stations at approximate mile markers; the 10k has five stations; the 5k has two stations. Gatorade is available at some stations. Port-a-johns are located near the start/finish area. Packet pickup is available at the event; race day registration is offered with limited guaranteed shirt sizes. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before April 15. Registration fees until April 15 are: 5k $30, 10k $45, half $65; fees increase after April 15 and rise by $5 on race morning. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd in defined age groups; overall top three are not eligible for age-group awards.
