Spring Thaw at Liberty State Park

The Spring Thaw is a running event held at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. This inaugural event offers two distinct distance options for participants:

1 Mile Run/Walk
5k

The 5k course is USATF certified and provides views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty. The event is organized by the Liberty State Park events team in collaboration with several local organizations, including the Friends of Liberty State Park and the Paulus Hook Walking Crew.

Participants who finish the event receive a complimentary T-shirt provided by the John E. Nagel Foundation. This foundation supports the event to honor the legacy of a long-time local coach and educator.

The race venue is located at 200 Morris Pesin Drive. For those traveling by car, free parking is available on-site in lots 1, 3, and 4.
