DU Spring Sprint 5K - Gunnison
The DU Spring Sprint 5K takes place on May 2, 2026, at Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado. The community road race is hosted by Delta Upsilon and is open to students, community members, runners, and walkers.
The course is a paved loop around the Western Colorado University campus. Participants complete two counterclockwise laps that begin and end on Adams Street. From the start, the route turns right onto Georgia Avenue and continues east, follows Escalante Drive around the north and east sides of campus, turns left onto North Colorado Street, and then left onto East Georgia Avenue to return to the start area.
The course is primarily flat with one main uphill and downhill section. It offers views of the campus and the surrounding Gunnison Valley. Volunteers and course marshals will be positioned along the route, and limited traffic control will be in place at key intersections. Participants are asked to follow posted signage and volunteer instructions.
Proceeds from the race support Delta Upsilon and a charitable cause. The published registration fee for the 5K is $10.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
