Sage Burner Trail Race
Sage Burner Trail Race takes place in the Hartman Rocks Recreation Area in Gunnison, Colorado, near Black Canyon National Park. The course offers wide mountain and basin views, including the Maroon Bells, the San Juan Mountains, and the Gunnison Basin.

The route mixes technical slickrock, smooth singletrack, and doubletrack. Runners encounter rolling hills and punchy climbs in a high desert climate. The event guide covers fuel station mileage and cutoffs, food and hydration, race rules, distance changes, refund policy, and recommended gear.
Organizers partner with the Youth Trail Running Initiative to increase participation of 14 to 19 year old athletes and with Trail Sisters to increase participation of womxn in trail events. A 15% registration discount is available; organizers request contact to claim it. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Gunnison Trails, an organization that maintains local trails.
All participants receive a Sage Burner running hat by BOCO Gear, a commemorative finisher medal, and a Hydrapak collapsible reusable speed cup. The event works with the Hydrapak Sustainable Racing Program to reduce race day waste. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
