Event overview

The Cleethorpes New Years Day 10K 2026 is a road race organised by Cleethorpes Athletics Club and sponsored by Timber Specialists. The event takes place on 1 January 2026 in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire (Kings Road, DN35 0AF). The UKA measured, flat course runs around the streets of Cleethorpes and Humberston and comprises two small loops and one large loop. The course is marshalled and uses chip timing. The minimum age for entry is 15. There is a time limit of 85 minutes for the 10K.

Entry, prizes and logistics

Entries are limited to 750 places and the entry fee shown is £30. There is a £2 discount for England Athletics affiliated runners. Late entries were reopened and close on 27 December 2025; late entrants remain eligible for prizes and will receive a race t-shirt that will be posted by the end of January after the additional order is received. Prize payments include a £300 cash bonus for breaking the course record (male 29:24, female 32:43) and £150 for the first male and first female finisher.

Race numbers and timing chips are to be collected from Cleethorpes Leisure Centre on the morning of the event and race numbers must be secured with four pins to the front of the running vest. If the event cannot go ahead in its usual format it will default to a virtual race. No refunds are offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
