Spreckles Lake 5K and SF Lightning Mile
The event is held in Golden Gate Park at John F. Kennedy Drive and 36th Avenue in San Francisco. It offers two measured running options that use park roads and loops, with the start and finish located at the JFK and 36th Avenue area for the 5K.

- 5K loop starting and finishing at John F. Kennedy Drive and 36th Avenue
The one mile race is described as a fast, downhill run; runners walk or jog uphill to the mile start at Transverse Drive before racing to the finish. The 5K follows a looped course around park roads and returns to the JFK and 36th Avenue area.
Race day check-in is held at John F. Kennedy Drive and 36th Avenue. Free parking is available along JFK Drive. All participants receive a participant ribbon and place ribbons are awarded to the top five overall male, female, and non-binary finishers.
