Kirkbride Festival of Running : Kirkbride 5 Mile
The event is a 5 mile road race held as part of the Festival of Running on Sunday June 28th 2026. Race headquarters are at The White Heather Hotel, Old Airfield, Kirkbride, Wigton, Cumbria, CA7 5HW. Ample parking is available at the hotel and there is a baggage lay down area and toilets for both male and female competitors.
The course is an officially measured single loop that passes through Kirkbride and Newton Arlosh and finishes at The White Heather Hotel. The route is described as flat and is UKA licensed; only bone conductor headphones are permitted under the event rules.
Race numbers and timing chips are issued at registration. Competitors are asked to follow the race director’s instructions and to keep to the left on open roads, taking care with passing traffic and cyclists. A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and measurement certificate will be on display at event headquarters on race day.
Results are published online after the race. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers. Age group prize allocation is based on category size: 1 to 17 competitors yields 1 prize, 18 to 27 yields 2 prizes, 28 or more yields 3 prizes; age group payments are made by BACS within seven days.
