Event Details
The Sport in Action Festival of Running will take place on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at The White Heather Hotel on the Old Airfield in Kirkbride, England. The festival includes three officially measured and certified races: the Kirkbride 5 Mile, the Kirkbride Half Marathon, and the Solway Coast Marathon.
Races
The three races are all considered flat, with the Solway Coast Marathon noted as potentially one of the flattest marathon courses in the UK. The marathon is described as suitable for achieving a Good For Age qualification for major marathons such as London Marathon. All courses have been measured by the Association of UK Course Measures.
- Solway Coast Marathon: A 26.2-mile race.
- Kirkbride Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile race.
- Kirkbride 5 Mile: A 5-mile race.
Registration and Event Day
Registration is scheduled to take place on the morning of the event. Race numbers and timing chips will be issued at registration. A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit, and the measurement certificate will be available at the event headquarters on race day.
Results and Prizes
Live results will be provided by Timing Up North Results. All finishers will receive a bespoke medal. Prizes will be awarded for overall male and female winners, as well as for age group categories. Age group prizes are awarded based on the number of competitors in each category.
Withdrawals
A withdrawals policy states that refunds are subject to a 50% processing charge until May 28, 2026. After that date, no refunds will be given. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
