Spooner Lake 5K and 10K
The Spooner Lake 5K and 10K take place on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The start and finish location is at Spooner Lake in Nevada's Lake Tahoe State Park. The event is part of a larger running day that also includes a 10-mile and a 50K race.
The courses are scenic single-track trails that circle Spooner Lake. The area is described as being nestled in the Lake Tahoe Basin, surrounded by aspen trees and over 12,000 acres of forested, open space. The 5K has an aid station at mile 1 and at the finish. The 10K has aid stations at miles 1 and 3.5, and at the finish. These stations offer water and electrolyte drink.
Online registration by credit card is available until 7:00 PM on August 8, 2026. There are individual and youth/senior pricing tiers. Discounts are available for clubs, teams, challenged athletes, and military personnel via email request.
