Walk Us Home - Run/Walk for Foster Homes
The Nevada Division of Child & Family Services and Carson City CASA, in partnership with RennerVation Foundation, present the 4th Annual Walk Us Home Run/Walk to raise awareness and support for foster children. The event is based at 449 W King St in Carson City and begins at the Brewery Arts Center, with a course that tours the residential neighborhood of West Carson City.
This is not a timed event and focuses on community awareness about the need for foster homes. Organizers note there are roughly 60 foster homes in rural Nevada for about 400 youth; some counties have as many as 14 homes, others have one or two, and some counties have none. When local foster home capacity is limited, children may be displaced to outside communities.
All proceeds support the 2026 Camp RennerVation program that brings Nevada foster youth to Lake Tahoe for summer camp. Registration includes a race t-shirt (adult or youth unisex) and a finisher bag; t-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations completed during race week. Participants should prepare for variable weather. A water station is provided.
