17th Annual Spooky Sprint 5K
The Spooky Sprint 5K is a family-oriented running and walking event hosted by the Melrose Family YMCA. The course begins at the YMCA on Main Street and guides participants through the downtown area of Melrose and the Pine Banks section. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes while completing the route.
The event includes the following distance:
- 5 km run/walk
The registration includes chip timing provided by Bay State Race Services and post-race refreshments. Awards are presented to the top overall finishers as well as the top runners in each age category. A costume contest is held during the event, with prizes awarded to those who visit the photo booth for evaluation. Participants who complete their registration by the specific early October deadline receive a long-sleeve t-shirt.
All proceeds from the event benefit the YMCA of Metro North Annual Fund. These funds are used to provide community access to child care, summer camps, and health programs.
