Spooky Pooch 5K at Grant Park, Atlanta
Spooky Pooch 5K is a Halloween-themed running and community event held at Grant Park that raises funds for LifeLine Animal Project. The event combines a chip-timed 5K with a fun post-race village that includes vendor booths, music, entertainment, and costume contests for both people and pets. In-person and virtual 5K participants receive a unisex event T-shirt and a finisher medal; registered dogs receive a mini finisher medal and a spooky bandana.
Distances and participation options:
- 5K timed, ages 8 and up
- 1 Mile Fun Run, ages 3 and up
- Virtual 5K, complete by October 31
Awards cover overall top finishers including a top non-binary category, age group awards, and special categories such as Best Dog Costume, Best Human Costume, Best Duo, Spookiest Pack, and top fundraisers or teams. The 5K uses chip timing for official results.
Participant requirements and policies are stated clearly. All participants, including dogs and children, must be registered. Dogs must be registered via the Dog Add-On, limited to one dog per registered human, leashed, and socially comfortable; waivers are required. Registrations are generally non-refundable unless refund protection was purchased. Early packet pick-up is available at LifeLine's Community Animal Center, and day-of pick-up is at Grant Park.
