Spofford Lake 10K
The Spofford Lake 10K is the first annual official running of a popular local route. The course is a 10K loop of about 6.2 miles that starts and ends at Wares Grove Beach in Spofford, New Hampshire. The route runs mostly through wooded areas on smoothly paved local roads and finishes with lakeside views for the final roughly 1.5 miles.
The course includes several brief, gently rolling hills and a notable climb up North Shore Hill near mile 2, producing an overall profile described as relatively flat. A water and aid station is located at mile 4. Traffic control will be provided along Route 9 and Route 63 by the Chesterfield Police Department.
Chip timing and bibs will be provided by Tri-State Racing Services of Keene, New Hampshire. The registration fee is $40. T-shirts are included for participants who register before October 5; later registrants may receive a shirt on a first come, first served basis depending on availability, with only a small number of extras ordered.
Proceeds from the event will benefit local food shelters and athletic programs. The event notes that runners of all ages are welcome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
