About the race
The Heart & Soles 5K is an all-ages, family-friendly run held on February 13, 2027 in Keene, New Hampshire. The event starts and finishes at the Y at 200 Summit Road and follows a snowy 5K route through the neighborhoods of West Keene. Participants may run, walk, or jog the full distance. The course leaves the Y parking lot, turns right leaving the Y, then right onto Hastings Avenue, left onto Hurricane Road, left onto Arch Street, and left onto Park Avenue back to the Y.
The route is described as flat and volunteers will be posted at each intersection to direct traffic. Note that the roads are not closed and traffic will be present; runners are advised to use sidewalks where available or run on the left side of the road facing traffic and to stay close to the shoulder. Check-in and bib pick-up take place inside the Y lobby. Registration is available from November 1, 2026 through February 12, 2027 with a fee of $35.00.
Dress for winter conditions; layering and traction are recommended because roads and sidewalks may be snow or ice covered. After the race, participants can warm up inside the Y and find water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks, and indoor bathrooms. Prizes are awarded to the top male and female finishers.
