Event Overview
The Tulip Trot 5K Run/Walk & Sprout Sprint is an event hosted by Green Street School, marking its 14th year. The event serves as the school's main yearly fundraiser, supporting school-wide and grade level enrichment programs, field trips, winter sports, and staff appreciation activities. It consists of two separate events:
- 5K Run/Walk: A 5 km distance.
- Sprout Sprint (K-3): A free event for children in kindergarten through third grade, consisting of three laps around the school.
Location and Timing
The event takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Green Street School located at 164 Green St. in Brattleboro, Vermont. Bib pickup and day-of registration for the 5K begin at 8:30 AM. The Sprout Sprint starts at 9:30 AM, with participants asked to arrive 15 minutes early as there is no bib pickup. The 5K race begins at 10:00 AM.
Registration and Fees
For the 5K Run/Walk:
- Registration is free for all children aged 12 and under if signed up by midnight on April 30, 2026.
- For participants aged 13 and over, there is an early bird registration fee of $20 until April 5, 2026, increasing to $25 from April 6 through May 1 at 5:00 PM.
- On race day, registration is $30 for ages 13 and over and $15 for children under 12.
For the Sprout Sprint:
- Registration is free but required for children in grades K-3. Registration closes on May 1, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
Students of Green Street School can register for the 5K for free prior to 5:00 PM on May 1.
Event Details
North Star Timing provides electronic chip timing for the 5K using the Mylaps BibTag system. A limited number of Tulip Trot shirts will be available for sale on the day of the event.
