Splash & Dash Round 8
Splash & Dash Round 8 is an open water swim and swimrun event held at Freyberg Beach on Oriental Parade in Oriental Bay, Wellington. The series runs in the 2026/27 season on selected Wednesday evenings and the published round dates include 25 November 2026, 2 December 2026, 9 December 2026, 13 January 2027, 27 January 2027, 10 February 2027, 24 February 2027 and 10 March 2027. The event is organized by Barefoot Events and takes place at the Freyberg Beach play area in Wellington 6011, New Zealand.
Distances offered at this round include:
- 150 m open water swim
- 400 m open water swim
- 730 m open water swim
- 1.3 km open water swim
- 2 km open water swim
- 3.15 km swimrun (150 m swim with 3 km run)
- 3.4 km swimrun (400 m swim with 3 km run)
- 3.73 km swimrun (730 m swim with 3 km run)
Minimum age to take part is 13. Younger participants may be allowed if they provide either printed results from a comparable open water swim event or evidence of regular membership in an organized swimming squad, using a coach‑completed form.
