Run Brave 5K
Run Brave 5K is the rebranded annual fundraiser hosted by the Ishan Gala Foundation. The event traces its roots to 2009 and grew from a community pool celebration into a running event that now centers on a 5K run/walk. The in-person 5K takes place on a scenic paved course at Darden Towe Park in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The day includes multiple participation options and family-focused activities:
- 5K in-person on a paved course at Darden Towe Park.
- 5K virtual option.
- Kids Dash for participants 12 or younger.
Registrations include a t-shirt and medal; registering by 8/25/26 7:00 a.m. (EST) guarantees those items. Fees listed for the events are $25.00 for the in-person 5K, $35.00 for the virtual 5K, and $15.00 for the Kids Dash. A discount is provided for ages 5–14 for the listed events where applicable.
Event-day offerings include post-race snacks and drinks, prizes for top finishers, sponsor booths, games, and activities. The schedule also includes remarks from an IGF family and a prize presentation. The event is presented as a community gathering to support children and families affected by pediatric cancer.
