The Spirit of Benny 10K/5K Fun Run and Walk
The 15th Annual Spirit of Benny is a family-oriented fundraiser held in historic Downtown Placerville. This event serves as the final edition of the run and walk, with proceeds supporting New Morning Youth-Family Services and other non-profit organizations that assist seriously ill children and high-risk youth in El Dorado County.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 10 km run or walk
- 5 km run or walk
- Virtual 10 km or 5 km (completed between March 21 and March 29)
The live course is located on the El Dorado Trail, specifically between Clay and Main Streets. Timing for the live event is provided by CRRM using race bibs with timing chips. Engraved medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the live races. The first 150 registrants also receive a finisher's medal.
Registration includes a short-sleeve tech tee in men's or women's cuts and a canvas tote bag. Participants have the option to upgrade to a long-sleeve tri-blend hoody. For those joining the virtual option, participants may design their own course and use GPS tracking to submit results and print an official finisher's certificate.
