The ICE Breaker Triathlon
The ICE Breaker Triathlon is held at Granite Beach in the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area in Granite Bay, California. The event began in 2000 and was opened to the public in 2002.
Race options include:
- ICE Breaker Triathlon - .5 mile swim, 10 mile bike, 4 mile run
- ICE Breaker Aquabike - .5 mile swim, 10 mile bike
- ICE Breaker Dash Triathlon - 400 yard swim, 5 mile bike, 2 mile run
- ICE Breaker Swim - .5 mile swim
The swim portions take place at Folsom Lake. Run courses follow the shoreline of the lake. The ICE Breaker Dash is a super sprint course aimed at first-time triathletes. Each athlete receives a swim cap, a hot post-race meal, a pair of ICE Breaker Triathlon socks, and an ICE Breaker Triathlon finisher hat.
Relay teams are composed of one swimmer, one cyclist and one runner. Relay entry includes three goody bags and post-race meals. Awards for the ICE Breaker Triathlon are given to first overall in Male, Female and Coed divisions.
Race packets are available race morning at the site. TBF Racing has a no refund policy; refunds requested before race week are issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee. Transfers between events are allowed within one year for a $25 fee. All TBF Racing events are held rain or shine. Volunteer shifts are four hours and volunteers can earn a $50 TBF Racing volunteer voucher. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
