Event overview
The Spicewood Vineyards 1/2 Marathon, 10K and 5K is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Spicewood Vineyards in Spicewood, Texas (1419 Co Rd 409). The event offers three distances:
- Half-marathon
- 10K
- 5K
All distances are chip-timed and start and finish at the vineyard. Each course is an out-and-back route with a brief stretch through the vineyard. The 10K turnaround is at 3.1 miles of the half-marathon course. The venue is described as being about 45 minutes west of Austin and 90 minutes north of San Antonio.
Course, logistics and entries
Aid stations with water and sports drink are available approximately every 1.5 to 2 miles. Half-marathoners access aid stations six times, 10K runners stop four times, and 5K runners have one aid stop. Packet pickup takes place at Spicewood Vineyards on race morning.
Entry fees vary by distance, with typical ranges shown as: 5K $80–$95, 10K $85–$100, and half-marathon $100–$115. A $5 Military and First Responder discount is available; a code and ID at packet pickup are required.
On-course extras and awards
Entries include a finisher medal, souvenir wine glass, wine tasting, a post-race catered meal (vegetarian option available on request), and a race shirt. Extra meal tickets for non-runners are available for purchase. All runners receive a custom finisher award. Overall and masters male and female winners receive wine and awards. Age-group first-place winners receive wine; top three in each age group also receive awards (age groups: 29 and under; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and up). A Christmas costume contest is judged before the race start; top five male and female winners receive a bottle of Spicewood wine at the awards ceremony.
