Country Roads Trail Run
The Country Roads Trail Run takes place at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, West Virginia. This location is situated adjacent to the New River Gorge and features a landscape characterized by lush, jungle-like forests. The terrain consists of a variety of trail types, ranging from wide singletrack paths to technical off-trail sections.
Participants navigate a course that includes steep climbs and descents throughout the park. The venue serves as a multi-use outdoor facility, and the trail routes pass by unique landmarks such as an archery range, a rock climbing wall, and zip lines.
The event offers two distinct distance options for participants:
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
During the same weekend, the venue also hosts Spartan Obstacle Course Races. Registration options are available for individual participants as well as teams. There is a designated program for spectators who wish to view the race from the sidelines. The event also provides a discount program for military members, law enforcement, first responders, and government employees through an affiliation verification system.
