The West Virginia Trail Experience - Spartan Trail takes place on August 30, 2026, at Summit Bechtel Reserve, North Entrance, Glen Jean, WV. The venue is adjacent to the New River Gorge and will run alongside other Spartan events that weekend, including Spartan Obstacle Course Races. Ticket prices listed start at $54 for the 10K and $84 for the half marathon.
Course and entries
The course uses varied trail terrain, including wide singletrack, steep and technical off-trail sections, lush forested areas, and several steep, punchy climbs. Runners may pass park features such as an archery range, a rock wall, and zip lines along the route. Distances offered:
- Trail 10K
- Trail 21K (half marathon)
