Sparrow's Nest Superhero Rock 'N' Run Challenge and 5K
The Sparrow's Nest Superhero Rock 'N' Run Challenge and 5K takes place at Barton Orchards in Poughquag, New York. This event features an in-person trail run followed by a music festival. The course covers various terrains, including gravel, pavement, and grass.
Participants can choose from several distance options and multi-week challenges that culminate in the in-person event:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- Titans 30-Mile Challenge (open to ages 12 and under)
- The Incredibles 60-Mile Challenge
- The Avenger 160-Mile Challenge
- The Superman 270-Mile Challenge
The distance challenges allow participants to log miles through running, walking, hiking, or biking starting in April. All challenge participants and 5K registrants receive entry to the Superhero Rock Fest. This post-race festival features performances by local bands along with food and drinks. Children under the age of five may attend the 5K and the festival at no cost. For those not participating in the athletic events, separate tickets are available for the festival only.
