Space Oddity

Space Oddity is a themed trail event held in Hurn Forest, Dorset on 26 March 2027. The course is a 5.3 km out-and-back loop that follows the main forest track and is described as hardstanding and well maintained. The event uses a David Bowie and space theme throughout.

Participants may choose their distance on the day, with options ranging from a single lap to distances described as up to ultra-marathon. All finishers who complete one lap or more receive a Bowie-inspired medal.

Facilities are located at the Hospital Services Cricket Club clubhouse adjacent to the start and finish. There is a bag drop area and toilets at the clubhouse. An aid station called RunDMC will provide savoury and sweet items and space-themed snacks at the start/finish of each lap. Plastic cups are not provided so participants should bring their own drinks containers. Trail shoes are recommended but not essential.

The event is licensed by the TRA and will be run under UKA rules; distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under. Twenty percent of entry costs will be given to Forestry England to support forest and trail maintenance. Race numbers are collected on the day at registration.
