Space Coast Marathon and Half Marathon
The Space Coast Marathon celebrates its 55th anniversary in 2026, maintaining its status as the oldest marathon in the state of Florida. The event takes place in Cocoa, Florida, with the course officially certified by USATF. The races follow a waterfront route along the east coast of Florida.
The event offers several participation options for both runners and walkers:
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Virtual Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Virtual Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
Participants begin their journey in historic Cocoa Village. The course concludes along the river at Cocoa Riverfront Park. Due to the proximity of the Kennedy Space Center, the entire event features a space theme for all participants. The marathon and half marathon courses are designed to accommodate both runners and walkers on the scenic riverside paths.
Registration for the event opens in February, with specific entry fees set for each distance. The physical race takes place at Cocoa Riverfront Park, while virtual options allow participants to complete the distances remotely. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
