The Soyland Moor fell race is scheduled for Sunday 8 November 2026 at the Hinchliffe Arms, Church Bank Lane, Cragg Vale, HX7 5TA. The course is listed as 22 km / 13.7 miles with 440 m / 1444 ft of ascent. The event is run under UKA rules and is licensed with the Trail Running Association and the Fell Runners Association; it has a permit and associated insurance.
Route and race format
The route is point-to-point and requires participants to self-navigate. The course is partially flagged at the start and finish only. The published description names several checkpoints in order: Stoodley Pike, Little Dove Lowe, a B6138 road crossing, Manshead Head trig point, Turkey Lodge Road, and a bridge, with grid references provided for each. All checkpoints must be visited in the correct order and competitors must follow the route marked on the map.
Entry, age and kit
Pre-entry is available with a standard fee of £15 for members and a higher fee for non-members; entry on the day is £20. Teams are allowed with three to count. Minimum age is 18 years. Full Fell Runners Association kit is required, including a waterproof jacket with hood, waterproof trousers, hat and gloves, a paper map with whistle and compass, a spare layer, and food and water.
