Event overview

Soyland Moor is an autumn fell race held from the Hinchliffe Arms, Church Bank Lane, Cragg Vale, HX7 5TA. The course is a point-to-point fell route of about 22 km (approximately 13.5 miles) with roughly 1300–1444 ft of ascent. The event is run under UK Athletics rules and is licensed with the Trail Running Association and the Fell Runners Association. Teams are allowed, with three to count. There are no junior races and a minimum age of 18 is required.

Route and requirements

The route uses moorland and Pennine Way paths and requires self-navigation. Checkpoints must be visited in the correct order; the start and finish are flagged and the remainder is not fully flagged. Full FRA kit is required. Required items include a waterproof jacket with hood, waterproof trousers, hat and gloves, paper map, whistle and compass, a spare layer, and food and water. Entry is available both in advance and on the day; on-the-day fee is £20, pre-entry fees are listed as £15 for members and £17 for non-members.
