Soyland Moor Fell Race
Soyland Moor is a fell race of 13.5 miles with 1300 ft of ascent, based at the Hinchliffe Arms, Church Bank Lane, Cragg Vale, HX7 5TA. The course heads uphill from the pub across moorland to Sunderland Pasture, then to Stoodley Pike and along the Pennine Way. Runners cross the B6138 Cragg Vale Road, go toward Great Manshead Hill and return to the Hinchliffe Arms. Entry is £15 with an additional £2 for non-affiliated runners and entry on the day is £20; entry can be made online or on the day. Minimum age is 17 years. Full FRA kit is required and must include a waterproof jacket with hood, waterproof trousers, hat and gloves, a paper map plus whistle and compass, a spare layer, and food and water. The race is run under UKA rules and is licensed with the Trail Running Association and the Fell Running Association. A course map PDF and a GPX file are provided by the organiser.
