SOX 10km
The SOX 10km takes place in September from the Ridgeway View Campsite near Wallingford. The event features a multi-terrain course that incorporates a mix of different environments, including trails, woodlands, fields, and local roads. Approximately 60% of the route is off-road, and participants encounter an elevation gain of 90 meters. Part of the course passes through terrain that is usually private.
The event offers two primary categories:
- 10 km run
- 10 km Canicross
The event is part of the Ales and Trails series and is supported by the SOX Brewery. It is a cupless race, though two water refill stations are provided along the route. Participants must be at least 16 years old to enter. A cut-off time of two hours is in place to accommodate those moving at a walking pace.
Finishers receive a variety of event items, including a medal and a pint cup. The entry fee includes a free drink at the finish line, with choices of SOX Brewery beer or non-alcoholic options. On-site facilities include free car parking, toilets, a bag drop, and street food vendors. The race is chip-timed, and participants have access to free downloadable race photos.
