Event Overview
The Hallow 12 Parish Challenge takes place on Saturday, 11th July 2026, starting and finishing at the Hallow Scout Hut on Playing Fields in Hallow. Participants can choose from several long-distance routes to run or walk.
Distances
The event offers five circular route distances:
- 40 miles
- 27.5 miles
- 19 miles
- 14 miles
- 10 miles
Route Details
All routes begin in the village of Hallow and pass through 12 local parishes. The course is mainly off-road, following public footpaths through the countryside. Every route will be clearly waymarked.
Checkpoints and Support
Checkpoints are located at approximately 5-mile intervals along each route. The number of checkpoints varies by distance, from one on the 10-mile route to six on the 40-mile route. Each checkpoint provides drinks and simple snacks.
Start Information
Start times are staggered by distance and participant type. The 40-mile route allows starts between 6:30 and 8:00. The 27.5-mile and 19-mile routes for walkers start at 7:30. The 14-mile and 10-mile routes for walkers start at 8:00. Runners for all distances start at 8:00, with 40-mile runners permitted to start between 6:00 and 8:00. All participants must complete their chosen route by 21:30.
What's Included
The entry fee covers tea and coffee at registration, drinks and snacks at the checkpoints, and a hot meal served at the finish. All finishers receive a completion certificate. Route descriptions and maps will be emailed to participants and made available on the event website a couple of weeks before the challenge.
