Hallow 12 Parish Challenge
The Hallow 12 Parish Challenge is a set of circular walking and running routes that start in the village of Hallow and pass through twelve local parishes. Routes run mainly on public footpaths and are largely off road. All routes are waymarked at key points and follow public rights of way.
Distances offered are:
- 10 miles
- 14 miles
- 19 miles
- 27.5 miles
- 40 miles
Each route has checkpoints that provide drinks and simple snacks. The number of checkpoints increases with route length, from one on the shortest route to six on the longest. Entry fees vary by distance and include refreshments at registration, drinks and snacks at checkpoints, and a hot meal at the finish. A completion certificate is provided on finishing.
The event uses the Hallow Scout Hut Playing Fields as its location. Route descriptions and maps for each distance are distributed by email and published on the event website a few weeks before the event. All routes are suitable for walkers and runners and are clearly waymarked at key points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
