Hallow 12 Parish Challenge
The Hallow 12 Parish Challenge is an outdoor event that takes place in the village of Hallow. Participants travel through 12 different local parishes along circular routes that primarily use public footpaths. The terrain is mostly off-road, providing views of the Worcester countryside.
This event is open to both runners and walkers across various distance options:
- 10 miles
- 14 miles
- 19 miles
- 27.5 miles
- 40 miles
All routes are waymarked at key points to assist with navigation. The organizer provides route descriptions and maps via email and the event website approximately two weeks before the start. The event follows a strict time limit, requiring all participants to complete their chosen distance by 21:30.
Support is provided throughout the challenge with checkpoints located approximately every 5 miles. For example, the 10-mile route features one checkpoint, while the 40-mile route includes six. These stations offer water and simple snacks to all participants.
Entry fees include several amenities, such as tea and coffee during the registration process, snacks at the checkpoints, and a hot meal served at the finish back at the Hallow Scout Hut.
