Event Overview
Ludlow10 is a multi-distance running event held in the town of Ludlow and the surrounding Shropshire countryside. The event starts and finishes at the Ludlow Rugby Club on the Linney. Participants travel through the town and onto quiet rural lanes, incorporating various terrain types throughout the courses.
The event offers three distinct distances to cater to different age groups and preferences:
- Half Marathon: For participants aged 17 years and older.
- 10k: For participants aged 15 years and older.
- 5k: For participants aged 11 years and older.
Course Details
All routes utilize quiet lanes and include off-road sections. A primary feature of every distance is the Whitcliffe Common area, which consists of undulating ground and several climbs and descents. All runners follow the same route through this section before heading toward the finish line.
Notable course landmarks include the town's historic narrow streets and hills. The routes specifically feature a climb known as the Donkey Steps, an uphill section located within the off-road portions of the event. The courses are designed to highlight the natural scenery of Shropshire while providing a route that includes both paved surfaces and trail elements.
Registration for the event follows a pre-entry system, with the entry period closing a few days prior to the event date.
