About the race
South Downs 50k is a 50 km point-to-point trail race from Falmer to Eastbourne, largely along the South Downs Way through the South Downs National Park and finishing over the Beachy Head cliffs. The route includes about 3,600 ft of ascent and descent, 99% runnable trail with some farm tracks and forest, and is non-technical. It’s pitched as an accessible intro to trail ultrarunning for newbies while offering a solid challenge for experienced runners.
Highlights include a fully marked course, four aid stations, live GPS tracking and chip timing, a bespoke finisher medal, and a post-race atmosphere with food, music, and massage. Entry £78 (GPS tracker included); minimum age 20; no qualifier. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
