South Downs (Summer Event)
South Downs (Summer Event) comprises four point-to-point races through the South Downs National Park in the South East of England. The courses use non-technical, runnable trails with a mixture of faster sections and hillier parts. At a certain point the routes merge to cross the white cliffs of Beachy Head and finish in the same location in Eastbourne.
One of the races covers 100k and is part of the South Downs Triple Crown challenge, which requires completing three ultra-distance races within a calendar year; four variations of the Triple Crown are offered. All routes are fully marked and include regular, well stocked aid stations staffed by volunteers.
The event provides a shared finish-line area with race commentary, food, music, massage and drinks for participants and supporters. Races are point-to-point rather than loops, and the courses are described as runnable and non-technical, making route marking and aid provision central to event logistics.
The organiser is UK Ultra. The event information emphasises route variety, consolidated finishes in Eastbourne, and support at aid stations rather than specific timing or entry details. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
