South Coast Ultra Challenge, 5–6 September 2026

The South Coast Ultra Challenge takes place on the South Downs Way with an Eastbourne start and a finish in Arundel for the full route. The course passes Beachy Head, the Seven Sisters and reaches a Brighton halfway point, with sections including Devil’s Dyke and coastal views.

The event offers multiple distance options:

  • 100 km
  • 57 km
  • 43 km
  • 25 km

Support and services run throughout the route. Rest stops are provided roughly every 12.5 km with major stops at about 25, 50, 75 and 100 km. Each rest stop has covered infrastructure and facilities such as seating, toilets, medical support, changing areas and baggage pick up. Food and drink are supplied at regular snack and meal intervals with hot and cold options and catering for dietary needs.

The route is fully signed and waymarked with arrows and glow-sticks at night. An event app provides Google route maps and GPS tracking while a timing system scans progress at rest stops. Medical teams include doctors, paramedics, first aid, podiatrists and masseuses. Camping packages with hot showers and base camp facilities are available and shuttle transfers operate to nearby transport hubs. Entry categories include Ultra March and Trailblazerz plus a Solo Challengers start option. Funding options include self funding, charity fundraising and multi event deals.
