South Carolina 5k SCADaddle For Research
The South Carolina 5k SCADaddle for Research is a timed event held at Unity Park in Greenville. Participants can choose to run or walk the designated 5 km course. The event utilizes chip-timing for all entrants to ensure accurate results.
The course route navigates through Unity Park, and the central hub for event activities is located at the Prisma Health Welcome Center. Participants who register by the specified deadline in September are guaranteed an event t-shirt. On the day of the event, the schedule includes a period for registration and packet pick-up followed by an opening ceremony.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the top male and female participants in various age categories receive recognition. After completing the 5 km distance, runners and walkers can access refreshments and browse the SCAD Store and other vendor displays.
The event weekend includes a meet and greet on Friday evening at The Gather GVL. This gathering provides a casual setting for survivors and families impacted by Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection to connect before the race. Participants also have the option to pick up their race packets during this Friday session. Sponsorship opportunities are available for organizations and individuals wishing to support research efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
