South Carolina SCADaddle 5K Race & Walk for Research
The SCADaddle is a community 5 kilometer run and walk held at Unity Park in Greenville, South Carolina, to raise funds and awareness for research into Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD). The event notes that SCAD is a cause of heart attacks in younger adults and is identified as the number one cause of heart attacks for women under the age of 50.
The event program includes a pre-event packet pick-up and meet and greet on October 16, 2026 at The Gathering GVL, and on-site packet pick-up on race day. Registration opens March 8, 2026 and closes October 17, 2026; the stated registration fee is $45.00. Registrants who complete registration by September 17, 2026 are guaranteed the event t-shirt for that year. The event takes place rain or shine and the organizer’s policy is no refunds.
Chip timing uses a disposable timing tag attached to the race bib. Participants must wear their bibs on the front of their clothing so the chip can be read; covered, pocketed, or bent bibs will not register. Smartwatches and smartphones can interfere with the timing chip frequency and timing disputes based on those devices will not be considered.
All runners and walkers are timed. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top male and female in age categories including 0-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
