South Carolina SCADaddle 5K Race & Walk for Research
The SCADaddle is a community 5K run/walk held in Greenville, South Carolina, at Unity Park, 111 Welborn St. The event raises funds for research into Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection, a cause of heart attack that most often affects younger adults and can recur.
Event activities include a pre-race packet pick-up and meet and greet at The Gathering GVL on October 16, and race-day packet pick-up, an opening ceremony, the 5K run/walk, a vendor area at the Prisma Health Welcome Center, post-race refreshments, and awards later in the day. Packet pick-up is available both at the pre-race meet and on race day. The event proceeds rain or shine. There are no refunds.
Timing is done with a disposable chip affixed to the race bib at packet pick-up. Participants must wear the bib on the front of their clothing so the timing chip reads; covering, holding, or placing the bib in a pocket will prevent accurate timing. Do not bend the chip. Smartwatches and smartphones can interfere with chip timing and their recorded times will not be accepted for disputes.
All participants will be timed. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top male and top female in these age categories: 0-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. Registration opened on March 8, 2026; the registration fee is $45. Register by September 17, 2026 to be guaranteed this year's SCADaddle t-shirt.
