South Carolina SCADaddle 5K Race & Walk for Research : Greenville, SC

The first annual South Carolina SCADaddle is a charity 5K run and walk held on October 17, 2026 at Unity Park in Greenville, South Carolina. The event raises funds and awareness for research into Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection, a cause of heart attack that often affects younger, otherwise healthy people and can recur.

Race services include disposable chip timing attached to race bibs; participants must wear bibs on the front of their clothing and keep the bib visible for accurate timing. Smartwatches and smartphones can interfere with the timing chip frequency and timing disputes based on those devices will not be considered. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top male and top female in each age category 0-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus.

Packet pick-up is available on race day and there is an in-person pre packet pick-up and meet and greet the evening before at The Gathering GVL. Registration opens March 8, 2026 and closes October 17, 2026, with a registration fee of $45.00; registration by September 17, 2026 guarantees a race t-shirt. The event proceeds rain or shine and the organizer states there are no refunds. Sponsorship levels are offered ranging from Friend to Corporate to support research. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
