Souter Lighthouse Summer Trail Runs
Wild Deer Events stages the Souter Lighthouse Summer Trail Runs on 7 July 2027 at Souter Lighthouse, Coast Road, Sunderland SR6 9AA. The route runs around Souter Lighthouse and The Leas on the South Tyneside coastline.
The course uses a mixture of coastal paths, open grassland, clifftop trails and firm paths. Coastal sections may be exposed and underfoot conditions can vary with the weather. Route maps will be published closer to the event.
Distances
- 5 km introductory trail run along the South Tyneside coastline
- 10 km scenic coastal route using clifftop paths and open grassland
The event is canicross friendly. One well controlled dog per runner is permitted, and dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Runners should ensure their dog is comfortable with the chosen distance and with other runners.
All runners receive live chip timing provided by Timing Up North. Every finisher receives a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise and a post race snack and drink. A custom event T shirt is available for an additional fee of £14 during registration.
Parking at Souter Lighthouse is limited and may require payment for non National Trust members. Car sharing or walking is suggested for local attendees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
