Soup 2 Nutz Duathlon at Silver Star Provincial Park
Soup 2 Nutz is a multi sport trail event held at Silver Star Provincial Park that combines a trail run and a mountain bike ride. Participants may compete solo or as a relay team; teams use a token passed between teammates at transition.
Distances:
- 10 km trail run on rolling single track and alpine double track.
- 16 km mountain bike ride on mostly blue trails with short black sections.
The course starts at high elevation and passes through snow‑dusted forests and alpine terrain. Route features include technical sections, sustained climbs (including a section called Hell Hill), flowy ski trails, and fast descents. Trail names referenced on course include Hammered Cow, Soup 2 Nutz, Coffee Grinder, and Raw Bones.
Safety and logistics: signing a waiver is mandatory. The event provides aid stations, a first aid attendant at the start/finish, race photos, and a racer package with a custom t-shirt and other items. A helmet is required when on or near the bike and participants must carry a minimum of 500 ml of water at the start.
The race takes place on provincial park land; participants are required to stay on marked trails, avoid short cutting, and not litter. Route maps for both the run and ride are made available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
