Sorta Mountain Stage Race, September 13, 2026
The Sorta Mountain Stage Race in Borden, IN is a trail running event held on the Knobstone Trail. The course is single track and fairly rugged, with rocks, roots and uneven terrain. The first four miles are undulating; beyond that the escarpments are steep with repeated climbs and descents up to the summit of Round Top Knob.
Distances offered include:
- 5 Mile on the Knobstone Trail with a turnaround at the first aid station (mile 2.5).
- Trail Half Marathon out and back with a turnaround at the summit of Round Top Knob.
- 18 Mile Ultimate out and back on the Knobstone Trail including Jackson Trailhead.
- 50K option combining the Half and the Ultimate 18 run back to back; finishers of the 50K receive a unique finisher medal.
Aid stations are located at mile 2.5 at a trail intersection and at mile 5.3 at a road intersection. Aid stations will provide water, electrolyte drinks and some nutrition options. Overall awards will be presented and bonus prizes are planned from a sponsor. Food will be provided for participants, family and volunteers.
