Event overview
The Sorta Mountain Stage Race takes place in Borden, IN on September 13, 2026. Registration closes on September 11, 2026. Proceeds support the Suicide Awareness & Support (SAM'S) Foundation. Overall awards and bonus prizes from a sponsor will be presented.
Distances and course layout
- 50K - Half plus Ultimate 18 run back to back.
- Ultimate 18 - Out and back on Knobstone Trail including Jackson Trailhead.
- Trail Half Marathon - Out and back on Knobstone Trail with turnaround at the summit of Round Top Knob.
- 5 Miler - Out and back on the Knobstone Trail with turnaround at the first aid station at mile marker 2.5.
Trail characteristics, aid, and services
The trail is single track and described as fairly rugged with rocks, roots and uneven terrain. The first 4 miles are undulating; beyond that the escarpments are steep with repeated elevation up and down to the summit of Round Top Knob. Aid stations are located at mile 2.5 (trail intersection) and mile 5.3 (road intersection) and will offer electrolyte drinks, water, and some nutrition options. Food will be provided for participants, family and volunteers. Finishers of the 50K will receive a unique finishers medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
