Sorta Mountain Stage Race : Borden, IN
The Sorta Mountain Stage Race takes place on September 13, 2026 in Borden, IN. Multiple trail distance options are offered on the Knobstone Trail, including a newly available 50K that combines two other race distances.
Distances
- 5 mile on Knobstone Trail with a turnaround at mile marker 2.5
- Trail Half Marathon out and back with turnaround at the summit of Round Top Knob
- Ultimate 18 mile out and back including Jackson Trailhead
- 50K composed of the Half and Ultimate 18 run back to back
The trail is single track and described as fairly rugged with rocks, roots and uneven terrain. The first four miles are undulating; beyond that the escarpments are steep with repeated elevation up and down until the summit of Round Top Knob. Aid stations are located at mile 2.5 at a trail intersection and at mile 5.3 at a road intersection, and will offer electrolyte drinks, water and some nutrition options. Overall awards and additional bonus prizes will be presented. Finishers of the 50K will receive a unique finisher medal. Food will be provided for participants, family and volunteers.
