Sorta Mountain Stage Race
Sorta Mountain Stage Race is a trail running event held on the Knobstone Trail offering multiple distances and on-course aid. The race serves as a fundraising event for the Suicide Awareness Mission, a 501(c)(3) organization that awards local scholarships.

- Half Marathon (13.1 mi)
- 18 miler
- 50K (complete the 18 miler plus the Half Marathon)
The course uses single-track trail with rocks, roots and significant hills. The Half Marathon is an out-and-back route on the Knobstone Trail with the turnaround at the summit of Round Top Knob. The 5 mile course is also on the Knobstone Trail with a turnaround at the first aid station near mile marker 2.5. The 18 miler is an out-and-back that includes Jackson Trailhead and is described as a tougher route than in previous years.
A new 50K option is offered by combining the 18 miler and the Half Marathon; a unique finisher medal is noted for 2024. Overall awards and some bonus prizes are presented. Food is provided for participants, family and volunteers. All proceeds support the Suicide Awareness Mission and its local scholarship grants and mental health awareness efforts.
