Sorta Mountain Stage Race - Borden, IN
The Sorta Mountain Stage Race is scheduled for 9-13-2026 in Borden, Indiana. The event offers multiple trail-distance options on the Knobstone Trail, including an extended 50K that pairs two shorter courses back to back.
Distances
- 50K (Half + Ultimate 18 run back to back)
- Ultimate 18 out-and-back on Knobstone Trail
- Trail Half Marathon out-and-back with turnaround at Round Top Knob summit
- 5 Miler on Knobstone Trail with turnaround at mile 2.5
Course and terrain details note that the trail is single track and fairly rugged, with rocks, roots, and uneven footing. The first four miles are undulating; beyond that the escarpments include steep sections with repeated climbs and descents up to the summit of Round Top Knob. The Ultimate 18 course includes the Jackson Trailhead.
Aid stations are located at mile 2.5 (trail intersection) and mile 5.3 (road intersection). Aid stations will provide electrolyte drinks, water, and some nutrition options. Participants in the 50K will receive a unique finishers medal. Overall awards and bonus prizes from a sponsor will be presented. Food will be available for participants, family members, and volunteers.
