SOO 200
The SOO 200 is a 200-mile ultramarathon held in Searchmont, Ontario, Canada. It is described as eastern Canada's only event of this distance. The event celebrates the land and waters of the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma area.
The course is a combination of single track, double track, dirt road, cross-country terrain, and even some bushwhacking. There are some short sections that may require route-finding, despite it being a prescribed route. Checkpoints are spaced every 20 to 40 km apart, depending on the race section.
Competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach device for both safety and route-finding. The event offers a two-instalment payment plan. Registration for pacers is mandatory through a dedicated form.
The event is situated on the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg, including the Batchewana and Garden River First Nations, and the Métis People. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
