Community Strong Race Weekend : Sault Ste. Marie
Community Strong Race Weekend is the fifth annual fundraising weekend held in Sault Ste. Marie at 50 Pim Street. The event is organized to raise funds and bring awareness to physical and mental health challenges in the community and the Algoma District.
The weekend program includes several races:
- Marathon (Boston qualifying)
- Half-marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km colour run
- Kids run
The BP 61KM Challenge is a multi-day series held in memory of a local teen. It combines a 3.8 km community run on Friday organized by Sault Striders, the 10 km and 5 km colour run on Saturday, and the full marathon on Sunday.
Packet pick up is scheduled on the Friday at The Tap Room, 50 Pim Street. All funds raised support the Algoma Family Services Foundation and their mission to support mental health in Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District. At the time of publication the fundraiser shows CA$1,197.58 raised toward a CA$5,000 goal (24%).
